A home run might win the World Series (on occasion) and a “Hail Mary” pass might win the Super Bowl (on occasion), but to “win” a livable planet will take hard work by all of us—tackling not just the sexiest opportunities but the everyday, bread-and-butter, staring-us-in-the-face changes that are needed in order to bring about a more sustainable built environment.
But what’s a keynote speaker got to do with this?
How Can A Green Building Speaker Make a Difference?
Why do I want to speak to green building audiences in 2016 and 2017?
Because right now, we’ve only certified the top 1% of buildings, and that’s after 15 years of trying.
It’s time for a new approach. That’s the topic of my new book, Reinventing Green Building and it’s also the title of my latest green building keynote. Please click here to download the PDF one-sheet description.
Bottom line, we’ve got to get much, much better at the buildings business!
Whether you are an architect, developer, or consultant, we need to reach more people and give them a better understanding of what works in green building and sustainability. That’s the only way we can get the green building industry out of the unsustainable state it’s in.
The events and conferences where I speak are a way we take a short pause to gather new ideas, insights and information which we can take back to improve our work.
I’ve Been There. I Hear You.
In the past 10 years, I’ve given nearly 100 keynotes at events, conferences and meetings, both local and national, domestic and global. I’ve spoken in 17 countries on six continents, around core concerns in green building, sustainable urbanism, water scarcity, sustainable development and green homes.
I love sharing what I’ve learned about what makes sustainable design and green building a sound business proposition, as well as a worthwhile undertaking; and how we can change things so that LEED and everything green building is actually working the way we need it to work.
What’s the best part of all this? We get a discussion going about things that matter to you, the audience.
Passionate people, people with purpose, smarts and drive make this a better world. That’s the audience I’m looking for.
The ideas above are what I think we should we be talking about in 2016 and 2017! Do you agree or disagree?
In either case, I’d love to hear from you. Please contact me today or use the form below.
